Watson Creek Kennels Heath Guarantee

Watson Creek Kennel guarantees that upon leaving our puppies are sound and in good health at the time of purchase, pickup, or delivery. It is recommended that you have your new puppy checked over by YOUR vet within the first 48 hours of them leaving my care. In the event a veterinarian finds the puppy’s health to be unsatisfactory; the breeder binds herself to the following conditions:

  • Serious untreatable genetic conditions/ defects as determined by a licensed veterinarian. Serious untreatable conditions/defects are guaranteed for 1 year from the puppy’s date of birth.

  • Moderate to severe Hip dysplasia and or grade 2 or higher elbow dysplasia is guaranteed for 26 months from the puppy’s date of birth.

Hip/elbow dysplasia guarantee is VOID if the puppy is spay/neutered BEFORE the age of 18 months.

If the puppy is determined to have moderate to severe hip dysplasia, dysplastic elbow, or a serious untreatable genetic condition/defect WCK will offer a replacement puppy of equal value of the first available litter.

In order to be eligible for a replacement puppy the following requirements must be met by the buyer.

  • Puppy MUST NOT be spayed or neutered BEFORE the age of 18 months.

  • The dog has NEVER been bred.

  • A vet diagnosis must be made (WCK reserves the right to have the dog examined and x-rayed by our own vet)

  • In the event of suspected hip dysplasia or dysplastic elbows the buyer must have x-rays obtained on the puppy and sent to the orthopedic foundation of animals (OFA) for evaluation. They must have an official OFA preliminary consultation and reading. (OFA is the sole judge for hip/elbow evaluations).

  • Vet confirmation MUST STATE that he/she feels that the condition is congenital and that it is NOT the result of an injury, abuse, poor diet, overweight, underweight, or that the puppy was improperly exercised within the first 24 months that the puppy was still developing, and growth plates were still open.
